Understanding, Compassion and
Keeping it Real...

Let's talk about sincerity. It can be a touchy subject--mention to someone they might not be fully sincere, and you're liable to get a funny look or a punch in the nose. But noting I'm imperfect as well, let's get to it.

From Webster's Dictionary, sincerity is defined as "honest behavior expressing one's true nature, an absence of artificiality, and a depth feeling rather than a display  Another phrase commonly used is, "Keeping it real."

It may be easier to illustrate sincerity by finding examples of it's opposite. Insincerity shows up in varying degrees, from inadvertently giving someone a false impression to deliberately lying. One common example is trying to create an impression. For example, telling people you read books to make them think you're smart is just one example. Its the difference between doing or having something because you like it, versus doing or
having it to persuade someone of something.

Hidden agendas and white lies are other examples, "Oh yes, my friend, I am soooo happy that you won the New York State Lottery." Sometimes we create identities or roles for ourselves that we end up getting stuck in. For example, the care-taking identity, "Sure, I'll wash your laundry," or the understanding girlfriend identity, "Oh, hello, boyfriend who hasn't called me in a week, its 9:30 p.m. but come on over anyway," or my personal favorite, the good office worker identity "Oh sure, I'd love to work late tonight. Where is that copier??"  It can be hilarious!

The problem arrives when we start creating these patterns in our life and it spins out of control. Pretending-motivated-by-fear1 takes a toll on our mental and physical energy, our integrity, and our self esteem.

So, what are we doing that's creating this? This is part of our exploration during The ReSurfacing Workshop, the first two days of the Avatar Course. There are also gentle exercises that deliver to us an awareness of becoming honest, and give us the ability to reshape and recreate our lives. Its incredible to read the success stories, some of which are included on the back of this newsletter. You can also check it out on the web at www.AvatarCourseInfo.com, a website coming soon.

The Avatar Course is a series of experiential exercises for discovering your higher self and creating your vision deliberately. You will experience your own unique revelations and a wiser, more powerful you. Feel free to give me a call at 917-513-9654 to come to a free workshop and try some of the processes. I also recommend reading Harry Palmer's book Living Deliberately: The Discovery and Development of Avatar. A course schedule is listed on the back of this newsletter.
